Michael Berman is one of the country most respected designers with a signature, sophisticated style that marries understated glamour with welcome livability he refers to it as American Trans Modern. Berman's products and interiors reflect the designers interest in history, art, and architecture especially the Deco period of the 30s and 40s film noir and the influences of designers such as Angelo Donghia, Billy Haines, and Dorothy Draper. His work strikes an uncommon balance between timeless style and an at-the-moment relevance. In addition to interiors projects from New York to Los Angeles Berman has lent his creative vision to a burgeoning line of products and furniture with leading brands in the industry such as Robert Abbey, Walker Zanger, Kravet and Brown Jordan, to name a few, and his most recent line Califolio with Theodore Alexander.
